Lindenmaker is a UK site for people who want a maker's workshop at home: a kiln in the garage, a laser engraver in the shed, an embroidery machine in the spare room. We help you work out which machine fits your space, your socket and your budget, what each project costs to make, and how to run it safely.
What's here now
- The workshop planner. Pick your crafts and your room, and it checks space, power and ventilation for each machine.
- Three kiln tools. The firing cost calculator works out what a firing costs from your own tariff, the plug checker tells you whether a kiln can run from a normal socket, and the size calculator helps you pick a chamber for the pieces you make.
- Guides by craft. Start with kilns and pottery, cutting and pressing or the home workshop.
How we work
We haven't tested these machines; we compare published specs and official guidance. Specs come from each maker's UK spec page and safety advice from official UK bodies, each with the date we checked it. You can read more in how we compare machines.
We'll post here when we add a tool, a guide or a new craft.
