About Lindenmaker
The home maker's workshop, sized for a UK house.
Lindenmaker is a UK guide to choosing, setting up and running maker machines at home: pottery kilns and wheels, glass kilns, embroidery machines, laser engravers and cutters, cutting machines and heat presses. The name comes from the linden, or lime tree, whose soft pale wood carvers have loved for centuries.
What we do
- Our free tools work from your own figures, starting with a workshop planner that checks which machines fit your space, your sockets and your ventilation.
- Machine specs come from each maker's UK spec page or manual, with the date we checked them. Safety advice comes from official UK bodies such as HSE, the Office for Product Safety and Standards and Electrical Safety First.
- We show our working, so you can check the sums.
What we don't do
- We haven't tested these machines, and we never say we have. We compare published specs and official guidance. Read how we compare machines.
- We never give wiring advice. A new circuit or a hard-wired kiln is a job for a registered electrician.
- We don't do building maths. Our sister site Plankley works out materials for shed bases and benches.
How we make money
Some pages have affiliate links, marked Ad. If you buy through one, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. It never changes what we list. Read our advertising disclosure.
Who we are
Lindenmaker is written by the Lindenmaker team. It's part of a small group of UK sites under shared ownership, including Plankley and Ferncharge. When we link to a sister site, we say so.

Who runs Lindenmaker
Editor: operator details go here once Jamie supplies OPERATOR_NAME, OPERATOR_ADDRESS and OPERATOR_EMAIL. Production builds refuse until then.
